Steve Carlisle was commissioned by JMC Properties to create a History Wall for the Sandpearl Resort, a luxury hotl on Clearwater Beach, Florida

The photos were carefully researched by Steve Carlisle, Christopher Still & Kelly Victory Still. Christopher Still contributed original photography and served as Art Director of the project. Nearly 100 images were scanned and imported into Photoshop before being printed & mounted with lamination. The installation is located in the lobby of the resort in a hallway leading from the front desk to the Caretta on the Gulf Restaurant overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.

The pictures tell the story of a man homesteading Caladesi Island near Dunedin, Florida in the late 20th century. Adjacent to the island was the uninhabited Tate's Island, known today as Clearwater Beach. The pictures describe how a local businessman built a rickety bridge to the island and built a home that later became the Clearwater Beach Hotel.
